I am writing to let you know about some significant changes which will be happening over the next few weeks at Justice First.

We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in  securing funding through the Northern Rock Foundation and the Baring Foundation for a 2 year Project in partnership with Newcastle Law Centre.

This will involve some reorganisation of staff. Our current Project Manager, Kath Sainsbury will move across to work on the new project, while Pete Widlinski, whom you will all know through his 18 years dedicated service as Manager of the Tees Valley Office of the North of England Refugee Service, joins us as Executive Manager.

Pete will take up his new post on 1st August and one of his first jobs will be to appoint a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Project.

Solafa Eltom, whose job currently combines casework, administration and volunteer management will continue in her present role.

Due to staff leave; and in order to prepare physically and administratively for the new arrangements, the Justice First office will close for 2 weeks from Friday 18th July and will re-open on Monday 4th August, when we will see clients at the NERS Office, 49 Grange Road, Middlesbrough. (Appointments can be booked through NERS on 01642 217447)

As there will be no-one available to receive messages, we ask that if you have a query, you contact us after 4th August when the office re-opens. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this will cause and advise that if your enquiry is urgent, you approach an alternative service.

Best wishes,

Kath Sainsbury
