Kath Sainsbury

Kath Sainsbury is the Senior Case Worker for Justice First. Whilst working in the education sector with children with special educational needs, she always cared passionately about human rights and was actively involved in the North East Coalition for Asylum Rights (now the North East Coalition for Asylum and Refugee Rights) and the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns (NCADC).

It was a natural progression eventually to consolidate that interest and seek employment in the field and she took up a support worker post with Middlesbrough Council’s Asylum Team, then later moved into the voluntary sector as NCADC’s Co-ordinator for the North East and Scotland.

When the controversial Lottery Grant for NCADC came to an end, Teesside stood to lose an essential resource, and she was offered a post with the newly established Justice First.
